Pontin's ... just returned from a seven night break from Pontins Hembsy. October 2008 After reading many reveiws I was very dubious about going and can honestly say was dreading the experience. However was pleasently surprised. We booked through the sun offer and stopped in classic accomadation which is the middle type offered. There was 6 of us in the party and it consisted of a sofa bed and 4 single beds. The bathroom was a small bath with a overhead shower and was operated on a push button system. Center Parcs ... ve just come back from Sherwood after a mid-week break. Yesterday at 5.00pm there was a power cut across the majority of the site - accommodation, shops, restaurants, and lesiure facilities. We happened to be in the swimming pool and were appalled by the thoroughly disorganised attitiude of the lifeguards on duty at the time. They got everyone out of the water straightaway but we were then kept waiting until a decision was made about what to do next - with no attempt to explain what was going on to the guests. The changing rooms have no natural light (or emergency backup lighting) so it wasn t a simple matter of just getting changed and leaving. After about 30 minut... Center Parcs ... is my absolutely favourite holiday destination in the world! I am due to go to Center Pacs Elveden Forest tomorrow and this will be my 6th Center Parcs holiday. I m not sure where to start! When you get there you will be instantly struck by the sense of peace you feel at being in the middle of a forest. Once you have unloaded your car you have to return your car to the carpark and everybody cycles or walks everywhere, so there is no traffic to worry about. The chalets are self catered and come with everything you could possibly need for your stay, although you will need to provide your own food and towels.
