Up to July 2007 I rented a house in a small hamlet called Saujac in the Midi Pyrenees. My closest major town was Villefranche de Rouergue, a bastide town in the Aveyron, a department of the Midi Pyrenees. Although I know there are more beautiful towns in France, this one is particularly special to me as at the time, business commitments limited the time that I was able to spend in it. I miss it's beauty and Frenchness. Like a lot of things in life, I took it for granted at the time and only fully appreciated it after I had left. This is a tribute to my favourite town in the Midi.
