Newest Review: ... Denmark, Esperence The Further south you go the colder it gets. Might sound obvious but even in the height or summer, the south will only sit in the late 20's. Margaret River is a major wine region (also breweries). With the new highway it takes about 3 hrs to get to (Albany is another 30 minutes from Margs). Beware - there are lots of speed cameras along this route, also be careful or driving during dusk as this is when the roos come out. You can visit Margaret River in a day, however the only real reason to go would be to tour the wineries so this area makes an ideal sopt for a mini break. Diverse is the one word used to describe WA. I believe Perth is the most remote city in the world, and as a result of this flights from other Australian can be a little hexy to pay, however from memory Perth was the cheapest place to fly into Australia from the UK. I have lived in Perth for over two years, and before that I holidayed there previously. If you wish to fully experience WA, you need a car. There simply isnt the infrasructure set up to use buses and trains that easily (buses will go most places, however you really need the freedom a car gives you). What can i say about Western Australia apart from its bloody BEAUTIFUL!! i have travelled all around Aus, been to every corner and major city and although each have their good points, for me Perth and the rest of Western Austrlia won hands down. It is quieter than the other major cities, which gives it that sence of "real australia" and not too touristy! The beaches are some of the most beautiful and it really is breath taking to watch the sun set and rise over the ocean.
