Amazing city, tiny but perfectly formed! (Xi'an)

Advantages: great shoppping

Disadvantages: you'll need a car to get to the Terracotta warriors

Xi'an is said to be China's city of the past (with bejing being the present and Shanghai the city of the future) and with the terracotta warriors being th main attraction I understand why.

In the center of the city is the bell tower (we stayed in the Bell Tower hotel-it was very good and had great view of the tower) which is stunningly light up at night around this is a huge shopping center and lots of shopping streets. The shops here are all very high class designer shops, did most of my bargain shopping in the Muslim quarter. t was so much fun haggling with everyone on all the stalls and the food there was great! The Muslium quarter was what i expected China to be like, very busy, tiny streets and an amazing atmosphere! The city is bordered by a wall, which is a good afternoon trip but after the Great Wall (which i also visited on the trip) is felt a bit small and tidy!!

The terracotta warriors were also excellent, they have left some parts half undug and half reconstructed so you can see how the archeology takes place-well worth a visit!

Summary: loved this city but won't take to long to see it all
