The Abbey quickly fell into disuse after the Battle of Arbroath in 1446 and materials such as lead from its roof and the red sandbricks were used in the building of much of the town visible today. First and foremost I love Arbroath! I have never lived here but been a visitor many times over the years and it is a favourite place to visit for my son too. ****Where is Arborath *** Arbroath is in the North East of Scotland and is situated on the coast. It is around 16 miles north from Dundee and 45 Miles south of Aberdeen. The name Arbroath originally comes from its position on the Brothock Burn.
