Berwick upon Tweed in General

HAVING READ THE OPINION OF BERWICK I CANT BELIVE THAT THIS PERSON THINKS BERWICK IS NOT A GREAT PLACE FOR TOURISTS. I LIVE IN BERWICK AND YES IT IS QUITE BORING FOR US LOCALS(MOST OF THE TIME!) BUT FOR TOURISTS ITS A GREAT PLACE ,WHICH QUICKLY BECOMES APPARENT IN THE SUMMER MONTHS WHEN WE CANT GET MOVED DOWN OUR HIGHSTREET.YES WE ARE STEEPED IN HISTORY WHICH MOST OF US ARE PROUD OF BUT THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO BERWICK.WE HAVE BEAUTIFUL WALKS AROUND THE WALLS,ALONG THE PIER,ALONG THE RIVERSIDE,THERE IS A BRAND NEW PROM AT SPITTAL AND WE HAVE LOVELY BEACHES.OKAY MAYBE WE NEED MORE PUBS(FOR US YOUNG ONES) AND A NEW NIGHTCLUB AND WE DEFINITELY NEED MORE TOILETS(ONE OF OUR ...  Read the complete review

Berwick is a very pleasant town, with a tremendous amount of history surrounding it, but not a town with a great interest for the average tourist. If you are interested in the anglo-celtic history of the area, in particular how the town changed hands between the Scots and the English (13 times between 1296 and 1482), then the town has plenty of places to visit.
