Cleveleys...my Blackpool. (Blackpool in General)
Member Name: LDWilkinson
Advantages: A retreat from circus folk. Disadvantages: Too far from where I live!!!
Think of Blackpool. Now stop thinking about the tower and the donkeys and the lights and the slightly brown colour of the sea. Let me take you on a short tram ride north up the coastline to a little place called Cleveleys. It lies in between Bispham and Rossall and, in essence, is one single street that managed to entertain me for a whole day. There is something wonderful about walking towards the sea up a street that offers not only high street stores such as Woolworths and WH Smiths, but special little places such as Beans, the best bakery I've ever bought Spice Buns in. Then there is Cleveleys Kitchen, probably Britain's best restaurant, and I should know, I eat a lot. And if it's desserts you're after, they don;t come much bigger. Imagine asking for an apple pie and getting the whole pie. Imagine no more. Go to Cleveleys Kitchen. I suppose the locals would consider me insane, but Cleveleys is my Blackpool. Keep your tower, I'll take Beans Spice Buns. Summary: |
