Welcome to Brecon!
Firstly check out the official web site which covers Brecon and all towns and villages in the area.

If you have been a fortunate visitor to the area in the past, you will know how beautiful the countryside is around the town of Brecon.
Brecon itself is situated about an hour’s drive from the M4, Hereford and Cardiff.
Among the winding roads leading to the town from any direction, the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons can be seen towering above the rest of Powys fields and hills with a breathtaking majestic power that makes you realise how truly forunate us British are.
Brecon itself is a small market town with friendly local people and some great events and attractions. These include the Brecon Jazz festival held every year and includes some wonderful artists and groups from all over the world.
There are 3 superstores in town. Safeway, Co-op and Kwik Save. All are able to provide you with groceries for your stay should you choose to holiday in a self-catering chalet etc.
There are high street shops mixed with local proprietors giving you a wonderful choice of local crafts and offerings. It has its own Agricultural market just outside which sells Cattle Horses and Sheep not to mention Antique furniture.
If you like to see the arts or attend the theatre then Brecon can assist you with both. It has its own Theatre, which sits along a small estuary. (Walking distance from the town centre.) Its own Museum is held in a wonderful building, towering above surrounding Victorian houses.
There is a cinema (closed on Mondays) Library and a Tourist Information centre filled with leaflets and helpful advice for local daytime attractions and places to stay.
Public Houses can be found scattered along the town and its outskirts, Ideal if you fancy a pub-crawl!
For Kids of all ages there is a Rock-Climbing centre, horse riding. Sailing an
d fishing for huge Pike at Llangorse Lake a few miles away. In fact something for every one.
If you enjoy the countryside dont miss out on the Royal Welsh Show held at Builth Wells at town just a half hours drive from Brecon.
Happy Holidays!
