Advantages: something for everyone
Disadvantages: obscene amounts of money will be spent!
Whenever I got to visit my boyfriend down in Brighton, Mouselcoomb, which is 3 minutes away from Brighton town centre, I can't wait for the shopping. The atmosphere, the shops, the eateries (if there is such a word) and other such places.
It is more a student town more than anything and with the mixture of the University of Brighton and University of Sussex's students, the town is over run with cool and interesting people. In Brighton, you get every walk of life which is great coz when it comes to going out, in my lovely antive home of Camberley, I feel a bit of a freak, oh well can't be helped ... but when I go down to Brighton I feel so comfortable and the atmosphere is wonderful.
What is so great is that the atmosphere is relaxed. With a lot of people being more friendly than you think they would be. There is a great mixture of people and you never think, omigod, there are too many hippies here or soemthing! It great from a mixture of goths, grungers, skaters, hippies, trendies and everything, it is wonderful! There is a great deal of a variety of people and there is something for everyone.
In the town there are the lanes to accomadate such tastes as mine, whihc is weird wacky and cool. They have 'alternative' clothes, cool music shops, quaint cafes and loads of bright weird and onderfu places, including a huge of amount of tatooists and piercers and not to mention music shops, and weird clothes shops. This place is great for the individual and people with individual dress senses and for skaters as well, due to a lot of skaters shops and stuff.
What I love abou the North Lanes is that they also have proffessional collectable comic and ccgs shops! I love it because I am an avid comic collector, it has everything with people which know what they are really talking about! The South Lanes are a bit more different with more radical shops like fetish shops and stuff, which erm ... no offence to people who like that sort of thing buta
bit too extreme for me!
Anyway, they also have gunsmiths and stuff but it is at the same a very arty part, where a lot of uni art students do street performances whihc can be entertaining but at the same time really tedious! However, the atmosphere is great and it is in no way drab or boring. you could spend the whole day exploring the lanes.
However for the more main high street goers, there is the bg indoor complex with would fulfill your ever desire. With all the highstreet shops from Oxford Street and stuff it is very entertaining for those who enjoy those shops and with all the main eateries on the top floor with Mac Donalds and stuff.
The town stretches all the way down to the beack and there are so many things you can do. you can also find many individual shops in which you will always find a little treasure in which you will be proud of!
The clubs and pubs surrounding Brighton are intermingled with the town centre and it feels like a nice closeknitted place with a friendly atmosphere.
Since I am not a uni student just yet I LOVE going down to Brighton as it gives me a taste of what the student life is like with a sense of belonging!
