Buckie is the third largest down in the Moray district situated on the coast of the Moray Firth. It has an estimated population of around 9,000.

Also included within the boundaries of the town are Buckpool, to the west of the Buckie Burn and Portessie to the East. The town is built mainly along the coast and stretches for 3 miles.

The heart of Buckie has to be the harbour since Buckie was first established in the 1800s as a fishing village. Cluny harbour is still active despite the fall in the fishing and ship building industries.
Despite this the harbour is a must see if you visit Buckie since there are still plenty of boats around. You will probably also see the impressive lifeboat which was built and refurbished at the Buckie Shipyard. There is also a harbour in Buckpool however this is no longer used.

Buckie is quite a historic town and if you want to learn more about the culture and heritage of the town then a trip to the Fishing Heritage Museum.

It's also a great place to visit if you're a keen golfer with a course at each end of the town. These are Buckpool Golf Club and Strathlene Golf Club.

This town is quite picturesque and has a lot of history. It's a great place to have a relaxing break.
