Cannock Chase covers 26 square miles and was confirmed as an "area of outstanding beauty" and a SSSI - Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its landscape and wide range of wildlife which include Adders, Deer, and endangered birds. Along with these animals there are also countless other things to look out for. Just noticed that Cannock Chase was on Dooyoo so as I live just ½ a mile from Cannock Chase I thought I owed it to the fellow people of Cannock to write a review on how wonderful the Chase is! First of all I will get past some of the more ridiculous associations with the Chase. Which include countless sightings of the son called Black Beast - a panther like animal which has been said to maul horses and farms - no actual evidence for this though. Many sightings of UFO's hovering above the Chase at night which has provided the local papers with so called footage and pictures. Cannock Chase is a very nice place right in the heart of Staffordshire. It is a place of natural beauty and is great for walkers, cyclists, picnickers and basically everybody who appreciates some lovely green every now and again. I now live right by here and I am appreciating every minute as it is one of those places that you can have a nice time if the weather is warm or cold. I have been coming here for years so I will try and get over to you now how lovely it actually is.
