Having only visited Cardiff once before, I didn't really appreciate the size of the City...until I got lost in the current maze of roadworks and regeneration work!!

There is a terrific mix of buildings - the fabulous modern architecture of the Millennium Stadium and the Welsh Assembly Building, really needs to be seen in life and not on a tv screen, to be fully appreciated. Then suddenly, you turn a corner and come upon the glorious Cardiff Castle...

You can shop in elegant Arcades, modern shopping centres or slightly run down looking rows of individual shops.

Hotels vary from the elegant Angel Hotel, to ultra modern examples of just about every chain of hotel in existance.

There are excellent rail and bus links, both stations are very close to the City centre, the roads are good too, but currently (July 2000) marred by an enormous amount of road works, which means that if you learn your way from A to B today, by tomorrow you will probably need to go via X, Y and Z!!

Large areas of the City are being regenerated and there is lots of building work going on...I look forward to returning in the future and exploring the "new" Cardiff that is currently being moulded.
