Home of the Crooked Spire (Chesterfield in General)

Advantages: Everything you need in one town Disadvantages: Nothing
I am biased as I live in Chesterfield but you can find loads to do here. First thing most people think of when they visit Chesterfield is a trip up the Crooked Spire. Located centrally to all shopping facilities is St Marys and All Saints church. There are many stories about how the spire got crooked. The church do have trips up and the views I have been told are spectacular. just recently in Easter 2000 the new Vicar Lane shopping complex was built. This has brought back some wellknown stores to the town and some new ones. With it been new it is well worth a look around preferrably without the kids or your hubby. There is also The Pavements shopping centre indoors handy for rainy days!! The toilets are clean in the town and the baby facilities are excellent. Chesterfield town centre is kept clean and you can often see the old shire horse pulling the dustcart. The kids love it. The Thursday Flea market is excellent. The choice of things you can pick up is varied and cheap. Many friends come from Nottingham etc just to visit the market. We also have market days on Mondays and Fridays and Saturdays. There is also an indoor market which is open all week long. Summary: |
