This is usually very popular with fishermen and many local competitions are advertised. Drive a mile or so round Ring to the local beach at Incheydoney and you'll think you've found heaven on earth. A fantastic expanse of sand and dotted rock pools set in a glorious location. We went in September and the place was pretty much deserted. Apparently the locals don't bother that much. Beautiful, beautiful Clonakilty! I spent a very happy week in this brightly painted and scenic little town. The shops down the high street were decorated in continental hues of pinks, yellows, blues and green and were as good on the inside as they were on the out.
