Colwyn Bay is very popular for family holidays or days out . It is extremely easy to get to , just off the a55 bypass which carries on all the way to Holyhead in anglesey .
It is a nice area , with a decent beach , situated on the North Wales coast . One of the best things about this part of coastline is the excellent bike track which is approximately twenty miles long , spanning from LLandudno to Rhyl therefore passing along Colwyn Bay's promenade .
Colwyn Bay also has a pier (the victoria pier) which has recently seen development by a local businessman who is desperately trying to gain funding from sources such as the national lottery .
Rhos on sea is a small village still in the Colwyn Bay area with a picturesque harbour , which is particularly beatiful at the time of sunset.
Another point I will add is that in the summer , there is good quality test cricket hosted at Colwyn Bay cricket club , county cricket teams such as Freddie Flintoffs Lancashire and Glamorgan have visited the town .
The are two golf clubs in the town Old Colwyn - which is a half decent nine hole course and Rhos on Sea golf club which is an 18 hole course with excellent golfing conditions .
I would reccomend Colwyn Bay for a weekend break .
