Advantages: peace and quiet

Disadvantages: no good for teenagers

Now that christmas has gone it's time to think of holidays. For some it's going abroad, for others that means staying in Britain. If you are staying in Britain some where for you to think about is a little town in Devon called Dawlish, It's situated halfway between Torquay and Exeter.

It's a lovely place with a small river running through the middle. Living on this river theres a vast array of all different breeds of ducks aswell as beautiful black swans.Dawlish is situated right on the coast so you could literally step off the beach straight into woolies and do some shopping.

Or you could use Dawlish as your base to explore the surrounding areas, such as Torquay the English riviera, Exeter with it's cathedral Newton Abbot for it's shops and market or you could take a fifteen minute drive to Dartmoor and take in some breath taking scenery.

Dawlish is not the place if you've got teenagers (they find it a boring place), but if your kids are young and you enjoy fresh air, peace and quiet and plenty of country-side then give the Devon tourist board a ring, get some brochures and see for yourself.

It is a lovely place unless it has rained a lot and then the surrounding roads seem to flood quite easily!
Good op.
