Nic07 Burnley
... I tell somebody I m from Burnley I get the same response, people always ask about the race riots. When in reality there is much more to Burnley than the riots and racism. I have lived in Burnley all my life, so 18 years, and I have only recently moved away to go to university. I love living in Burnley, regardless of what people say about it and the bad press it gets. There are bad parts of Burnley but there are bad parts and run down parts of every town. Burnley doesn t have the best shopping entre but it is near both Manchester and Preston if you need to go clothes shopping, there are buses to both places and it s easy enough to get to. The heart of Burnley...

shaneo632 Chelmsford in General
... has a reputation for being a very tawdry and undesirable place to live, but Chelmsford really outdoes itself and does the county a big service. I generally feel safe walking home at night on my own, and am a lot calmer than I am walking around London in the same ...

Added to which you needed very deep pockets and enormous piles of lucre if you wished to invest in property in that part of the world...and you still do. Evidently Country Life Magazine voted Midhurst as the most desirable place to live in Southern England in 2004. I don t know if I can whole-heartedly agree with that, as there are many lovely towns and villages in West Sussex, but Midhurst is a remarkably pleasant place to while away a few hours. The town itself is very compact and easily covered on foot. One of its most famous residents HG Wells (author of "War of the Worlds&...
