Advantages: Practically Everything Here........
Disadvantages: None That Spring To Mind.........
Exeter is well situated as the central city in Devon. It boasts a host of historic buildings..Roman walls, underground passages, medieval public houses and of course, the wonderful Exeter Cathedral, (which actually has well preserved Roman baths under the forecourt).
The Victoria and Albert Museum is well worth a visit..especially if the weather is wet..not only does it house a notable array of taxidermied animals, but also an impressive collection of foreign artifacts, ranging from ancient Greek/ Egyptian/ Roman etc. In view of local interest, there is also a well thought out collection of various finds which have been located within the shire.
One will find the expected array of good high street shops which are easily accessible on foot. Cars are not permitted within the high street, but minibuses are, so shoppers with heavy bags to carry shouldn't be dissuaded! Car parking can be a problem at certain times of the day, however, there are at least 3 multi storey car parks and smaller ones to boot, but sometimes one might have to queue for a while..... once parked though, everything is then within easy walking distance.
The nightlife is relatively good..but can get a bit wild...but then there usually are quite a few people out and about, so should only really be expected, I suppose.
There are some nice waterholes to visit...theme pubs have proved to be popular with party animals!...Worth visiting.......
