Advantages: great little market town

Disadvantages: lacking on the shopping front

Hitchin so i am told by my husbvand used to be an amasing place. though now it is not quite the place as it was but - it still holds the charm of a market town within the boundaries of hertfordshire. For me the best part of hitchin apart from its history is its wonderful st merrys church which at night is light up with flood lights and trully beautifull especially from a market car park! Hitchin used to be a very good place to shop, used to be full of very good places of diverse range of goods on offer. But unfortunately due to credit crunch it would be seem that high street are struggling due to amount of empty shops that now litter the ones prosperous streets of hitchin,
however, if you looking somewhere to go drinking on the weekeng, pubs such the Ivory and the Cock and Bar Absolute are great places to socialize.
