      Nice Place to visit

Kelso is a small market town located in the South of Scotland. The town lies on the river Tweed and is in the area known as the Scottish Borders. The town has a population of around six thousand people but it often gets a little busy in the summer months when people come to visit the area. This is seen as a very traditional Scottish town with old cobbled streets and some really quaint little buildings. People have been living in this area since the twelfth century and the area has a rich history.

There are not many places to stay in the town of Kelso however the well known Roxburghe Hotel is an excellent option. There is a great standard of rooms in this hotel and the service is very friendly. The hotel also has an excellent golf course which many people enjoy playing when they visit. There are also a few small guesthouses in the town which all offer good service and a friendly welcome. There are lots of nice privately owned holiday homes in this area, most of these are set in lovely scenery and are very nice to visit. Kelso also has a few nice little camp sites around it that all have good facilities and offer a good cheap alternative.

The little town has some really nice shops that are worth looking around. There are all the regular shops you would expect in a town of this size but there are also some wonderful antique shops that are great to browse round. There are also a few very good charity shops that are great for bargains. The town has a very nice central square that has some lovely buildings in it and really is a nice place to spend a few hours looking round. There are also some nice pubs in the town, they are all very friendly and offer a warm Scottish welcome.

There are a few places of interest in the town. The main tourist attractions is probably Kelso Abbey. This is a very spectacular abbey and all though some of it has fallen down much of it still remains and it's an interesting place to look round and learn about some of the local history. Floors castle is also a very impressive structure to have a look round, this is a large country house that looks a little like a mini castle.

Kelso really is a great little place to visit. There are plenty of places in the area that are worth visiting and there is some really nice scenery. This is a classic example of what Scotland has to offer in the way of quaint towns and it really is somewhere everyone should give a visit at some point.
