The Lang Toun (Kirkcaldy in General)
Member Name: dougal868
Advantages: Good shops and lots to do Disadvantages: A little rundown in places
Kirkcaldy, know as 'the lang toun' is a large town in central Fife. The town is very old and has a rich history being built up around the once busy harbour. In later years, the town was a hive of industry and at one point produced most of the world's linoleum in it's many factories. The town suffered decline as these factories began to close their doors (although some lino is still made in here) but is still a very busy and popular town. Kirkcaldy is also the birthplace of the famous 18th century economist, Adam Smith. Summary: A bustling town with a rich history |
