Leighton is a town in Bedfordshire that is quite shit to be honest... It really has nothing to do but has drastically improved over the years in terms of drugs and crime but for how long i dont know. Back in around 2005-2008 it was very bad you couldnt go anywhere without seeing druggies or being offerd drugs (http://www.mk-news.co.uk/News/Towns-dirty-little- secret.htm news report of leightons drug problem) but nowa days the drugs have calmed down alot, thats not to say there isnt any drug dealers anymore there a still quite a few just not nearly as many as there use to be. The council estates like Meadow Way, Oakley Green and various other estates are still currently not nice places to live however and there layout is a hotbed for criminal activity and in the near future will most likley return to the much worse 2005-2008 state it use to be like. The amount of good shops in Leighton is very small if any, it is still mainly crappy small shops that the middle age residents like so much for some strange reason or chairty shops, there is a Morrisons and a Tesco that is due to be expanded which many belive will affect smaller indepent shops and me personally I hope it does and drives away the idiots who support them. There is not much to do in terms of lesiure either there is a overpriced lesiure center and a theater in the libary that shows films already released on dvd but apart from that your best bet is to go to Milton Keynes which is much better in all ways rather than leighton...
Overall if you want to come to a town that has no good shops nothing to do and a ticking time bomb for the return of mass drug dealers,druggies and other criminals then this is defintley the town you should choose however if you read my review and head my warning then you will have a much better life or if like many who live in leighton like me that want to move to mk or anywhere better i bid you good luck in escaping this shithole...
