There are plenty of antique shops around too. Just down the road on the Uckfield road are a couple of nice pubs. The stewards enquiry is a nice place to eat and is just up the road from the Bentley Car museum and Barkham Mill, a boating haven. Further on is Uckfield. A lovely little village that was also hit by flooding. My other half is from here so we have spent much time in the area. I dont know if anyone could miss the terrible flooding that hit Sussex a couple of weeks ago? The whole of Lewes and Uckfield were devastated. There is a tunnel that links Lewes to the main Brighton road called the Culfail Tunnel which is supposed to be haunted.
