Advantages: Setting
Disadvantages: Not many clothes shops
Lichfield is a small city not that far from my home which I love to visit at least a couple of times a month. Technically Lichfield is a city as it has a cathedral but it could be the smallest city that I have ever known. Situated close to Tamworth in Staffordshire it is a popular place as it has many activities to explore within the city.
As you probably know from my other reviews I do love to have the weekly shop to de-stress after the week. However you would be pretty hard pressed to find much to buy in Lichfield as they only high street clothing stores it has is a small Dorothy Perkins but a decent sized New Look. So the times I do go to Lichfield it is purely for the joy of walking around the place as it has a lovely atmosphere. Lichfield does have two beautiful jewellery shops which I love to go into as they sell gorgeous second hand, antique rings, bracelets, broaches and necklaces.
There is also Woolworths, WH Smith, Game and Argos so there are a few shops if you do need something other than clothes. I rarely go to these shops as I prefer different products but my family do visit them. My daughter especially loves Lichfield as she hates clothes shopping so she always wants to go there.
Lichfield is famous for the 'Three Spires' which is basically just the spires from the cathedral and churches within the city. The surrounding areas are very green, with a lovely park which is always full of families having picnics and children playing football. The lake is stunning and looks absolutely breathtaking next to the cathedral. Lichfield is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon with the family.
Lichfield also has a theatre which shows many independent plays in which I have seen quite a few. It is a very intimate theatre as you feel like you are literally in the play. There is also part of Staffordshire University located in Lichfield which I think would be a lovely place to study.
Overall I think Lichfield is a wonderful place to visit with the family as there are a few things to do within the centre but there are lots to do and find just outside of the city such as Drayton Manor, craft centres and other towns. Lichfield is in a beautiful setting and I recommend everyone to take a visit if you are ever in the area.
Summary: A lovely place to visit
