Advantages: pubs, pubs and more pubs!!

Disadvantages: not enough clothesshops

Having lived in Loughborough all my life I've seen changes in it in terms of shopping and housing developments. Loughborough has a wellknown and critically acclaimed University. Therefore it's got a big student population during termtime (porbably about 20%). The thing is there's not enough in terms of the nightlife to satisfy the students. Nightclub Pulse is above average but has a huge number of steps everywhere, this means if you are a bit tipsy you can have a nasty accident. I've not actually been to Club Xs, I've been to it when it was Echo's and was not too impressed with it. Discoteco (if that's how u spell it!) is adequate and can host some great one-off nights with famous names such as DJ EZ, M&S and more. A great opening of late has been 'Vice Versa', it looks fantastic and has a popular Tuesday R&B and garage night.

There's a huge number of pubs in Loughborough, pubs worth a visit are 'Orange Tree', 'The Custard Bar', 'The Moon & Bell' and 'Warehouse'.

In terms of shopping we have 'Next', 'New Look', Dorothy Perkins','Littlewoods' and 'Etam'. What we are lacking in is shops that appeal to young people, there's no 'Top Shop', 'River Island', 'Miss Selfridge' and the like. The thing is Loughborough is in a good location, Nottingham and Leicester are nearby and easy to get to.

There's a KFC and McDonald's but no Pizza Hut :( This is something that's a bit of a sore point with me!
The local Curzon cinema is a bit small and doesn't give NUS discount. However on Thursday's and Monday's it is only £2.80 for any film. It also doesn't always get the new films as soon as they're released.

Regent Place is a recently opened shopping development with shops like 'Carphone Warehouse', 'Powerhouse' and 'Currys'.

Basically Loughbor
ough has the necessities and anything else you'd need is in easy reach. Worth a visit if you like pub crawls!

I have been living in Loughborough for last one year. I wouldn't have learned about all those clubs unless I had read your review. Thanks for the briefing. A bit more about job prospects could have come handy for students like me. I would share my experience sometime later.
