This small town on the edge of Exmoor is a wonderful place to visit.

It make a great location for a quiet break, or a good base if you want to get out and about.

Sitting virtually on the side of a cliff, above the town of Lynmouth, Lynton boasts great scenery.

A friend and I went for a much needed getaway at Easter and stayed in a lovely B&B called the Turret. (The only drawbacks to the Turret are the 8.30am breakfasts and the fact that we didn't find out it was non-smoking until we got there. The Benifits are 3nights for the price of one)

Once in Lynton itself, there isnt much to do, but I recommend a trip down the Cliff Railway into Lynmouth.

The locals are friendly and welcoming, although the weather wasn't at its best when we were there, I can imagine how wonderful it would be in the middle of summer.

There are many places to visit nearby, just take a look at the map! We took a spin out to Dartington Glass, and along to Clovelly. Walkers would enjoy the countryside that was closed to us (foot & mouth).

If you are heading out this direction, just make sure you are ready for the hills, most of them (it felt) are around 1 in 4!
