Advantages: Everything you need to keep a young family entertained
Disadvantages: The british weather
If you have young children then Mablethorpe really is a lovely place to go for a holiday. I have three young children and at the moment we go there every year.
After a disastrous journey on our first holiday with children we decided to stay closer to home and avoid the travelling until they were a little older. I thought it was a bit silly not even to leave the county to go on holiday but to avoid the screaming I agreed. I have to say that I really like it. It's not as big as other resorts in the area like Cleethorpes or Skegness but it has everything that a young family needs. The beach is really big and usually very clean and I've never seen it overcrowded. There are
donkeys on the beach and along the promenade are some cafe and shops that sell buckets and spades and sweets. There is a small funfair, crazy golf and you can even rent a beach hut.
In the town itself which is a short walk from the beach there are
amusement arcades and cafe and restaurants ranging from sandwiches to a carvery. There are hundreds of seaside type shops selling souvenirs and rock and some normal shops selling clothes and shoes. There is an indoor soft play area for if the weather turns bad and plenty of places to play bingo.
If you go a little way up the promenade there is Queens park with a boating lake, miniature railway, more crazy golf, an
adventure playground and a free paddling pool. In Mablethorpe there are loads of caravan sites and plenty of hotels and B&B's. There is a promenade that stretches from mablethorpe all the way from sutton on sea which is about 3 miles away so even
if you stay outside the resort you can use the promenade to walk in whenever you like.
In the surrounding area there are some lovely little farms that welcome the public and offer a great day out. There is an indoor fun pool with a water slide at nearby Chapel St Leonard and Butlins is at Ingoldmells.
My children love it at Mablethorpe and really look forward to our holidays and weekends away.
Summary: A lovely family orientated place
