Seacroft Holiday Estate, Mablethorpe.
I have spent most of my holidays at this site since I was five years old, and now as a mother myself I take my family back there whenever I can.
Location
The site itself is around a 30 minute walk from the main town of Mablethorpe itself.
The beaches surrounding the site can be accessed from the site, but do be warned this is accesses from stone steps. The beaches are clean and quite, don't be surprised to only see a few other families as because it's not near the town centre, the beaches never get packed, so you can sit back and feel the sand in your toes and the sea breeze in your hair, I have spotted many seals while sitting on that beach. The tide times are available locally, is you went to this beach a few years ago before they dredged sand you would find the tide in at most times and this being quite dangerous due to the tide cutting you off, but nowadays the tide does not come right in anymore and the sea is relatively safe to play in {be aware of the usual sea safety recommendations} when it is coming in but I do not recommend when it is going out as it can be windy and the currants in that area so have a pull.
On site
The site itself has a small shop, stocking news paper and magazines, essential food items like bread, milk etc and the usual seaside gift and novelties, like postcards, buckets and spades and wind breakers.
The site is always clean and presentable and maintained, and the owners are helpful and polite.
There is an amazing on site pub, with sides broken up for families and adults. The staff are child friendly and polite; they go out of their way to make your holiday memorable.
There is a few arcade games, a snooker and billiards room, board game and cards hire, darts and local entertainment and bingo some nights, mainly in high season.
The meals, served there, especially the Sunday lunch are great quality, local produce and home made for a great price, it was last time I went £6 for a roast beef dinner for a adult. Children are well catered for, there is the usual chicken nugget and chips meals but they do smaller portions of some adult meals, and staff have been only too happy to make me a small portion of something not on the Childs menu.
This is a family site, so groups of young adults are not allowed to stay on the site.
They offer a private fishing lake for a small fee for both adults and children, with a competion during summer months.
There is usually a free BBQ around the august bank holiday.
Accommodation
Log cabins - this is the most expensive but luxurious type of accommodation they offer, it has wheelchair access, is very spacious, sleeps six, has a outside balcony, with all mod cons. Prices for 2008 range from £300-£560 a week.
Caravans- This is the mid priced option. It sleeps 6 people and is furnished tastefully, with all the mod cons. Prices are from £270-£530 a week.
Chalet - This is the lowest priced option. It sleeps 4-6 people; it is basic but has everything you would need for a self catering holiday, there is also wheelchair access, but they are on the small side. Price is from £200-£420.
All accommodation is non smoking. Pets are allowed for a fee and with prior permission. Bedding can be hired and cots can be hire too for a small fee, usually £10 a week.
There are also spaces for tourer caravans, with clean shower blocks and toilets; also a launderette which tokens can be brought from the reception.
You can also buy new and use caravans here, and for fees rent land annually for your caravan.
Summary: great but can be a little pricy
