Advantages: seals at Donna Nook
Disadvantages: poor amenities
Mablethorpe is a seaside resort on the east lincolnshire coast. It is a lot less developed than other seaside resorts but Im not sure if this is a good thing or not. There isn't really too much to do here and I think a week would be tedious. Just like other British seaside towns they have been aloud to deteriorate over the past 50 years to look as they do. Very little money has been spent here in a long time.
There is quite a lot of accomodation choice in Mablethorpe from large caravan sites to B&Bs and small hotels. Availability is always good and few are ever fully booked. The large sites are again a little rough round the edges and need some refurbishment.
The beach is very nice and safe. It is nice to walk along the beach in winter when its much less crowded and there are many different bird species to see.
There are no restaurants worth mentioning they all serve the same cheap as chips muck.
If you are visiting the area during November or December do take a trip up the coast to Donna Nook where hundreds of seals go to give birth. You can get really close to them and it is completely free. This is by far the best thing about Mablethorpe.
Summary: poor old Mablethorpe
