Macclesfield - Is it any good? (Macclesfield in General)

Advantages: Its in the countryside... kind of.

Disadvantages: Nothing to do!!!!

I am 27 years old, and I live in "sunny" Macclesfield, or Macc as its known round here, amongst other things!

Although its a very pretty place to live, surrounded by rolling hills and moors and lush green fields and forests, there is NOTHING to do for young people. At all.

Basically, if you live in Macclesfield and you don't have a car, then you may as well accept your fate as a hermit, because there really is no hope for you, unless you can befriend someone with a car.

The only 2 things which are of any use to young people on a social level that DOESNT involve alcohol are the leisure centre and the bowling ally, both of which are at totally opposite ends of the town, and neither of which are accesible without transport. Yes we do have buses in Macclesfield, but they are so unreliable it can sometimes actually be quicker to walk than to take a bus.

The town centre is pretty easy to get to, provided that you dont mind paying through the nose for parking. We do have lots of shops in the town centre, but to be honest, they arent very exciting, and for some reason, every other shop seems to be a mobile phone shop - or a pub!

In conclusion - Its nice to look at, but thats about it!
