Moloco pub & bar 2 Station Road Bearsden Dumbartonshire G61 4AN The best thing about Moloco bar Bearsden is the fact that it is right beside the railway station, which means that at least you have the option to go elsewhere (if the trains are running that is!) Sadly, as I found out recently, it is no longer a place for real-ales & the likes and strikes you as more of a college common-room than a decent pub. The beer, although a varied enough selection, isn't the greatest in Scotland (nor the cheapest at around £2.50 a pint!!) The staff appear to be generally quite pleasant &, although young, you still feel they could benefit from the wisdom of a more-experienced management set-up. Foodwise, well you have the option of Salt & Vinegar or Cheese & Onion or sometimes they have "specials" where you can devour a packet of peanuts. Not exactly on the verge of an entry in the Good Food Guide! They do show most major sporting events on satellite tv, but other than that the only entertainment advertised consisted of a quiz night. When we visited, there was an incessant BLARE of garage/hip-hop bouncing through the PA (presumably to please the staff on duty) when a look round at the other 10 or so bodies (of a more mature variety) in the place. suggested that something a bit more suitable would have been more appropriate. Finally, if you visit and decide you need to visit the "toilet" - one word of advice - DON'T!
