Newest Review: ... of quite a good size to do your grocery shopping. I personally enjoy going to Muswell Hill to get gifts from some of the unique little shops, or to browse the numerous charity shops, which are not that sparingly found in the more central london. There are also numerous restaurants in Muswell hill, which make for a great place to have a bite to eat. Fast food chains are limited, with there only being a KFC. There is not a great deal of night life in regards to clubbing, however there are quite a few pubs including a lovely O'Neills, and the Village which is pretty busy on the weekends. Muswell Hill is situated in North London, and is a great suburb. Whilst it is not too far away from central london, with direct bus routes, it does not feel as though you are right in the centre. Unfortunately there is not an underground directly in Muswell Hill, however a walk down the Fortis Green Road gets you to East Finchley, which is on the northern line. It is a fairly quiet suburb with trees and pretty surroundings. The area is quite upmarket with quite a few speciality shops, such as Melbury & Appleton, Planet Organic, SpaceNK etc. There is also the more common Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencers, which are of quite a good size to do your grocery ...

With trendy Highgate on one side and charmless Bounds Green on the other, Muswell Hill provides a handy compromise. The atmosphere tends to be very laid back and the prices are sensible, but it nevertheless boasts a good selection of shops and restaurants and is a nice place to spend time. The Odeon cinema can be relied upon to show the films that are worth seeing, and there are a number of pubs. La Porchetta, opposite Woolworths, is an Italian restaurant (you wouldn't have guessed) that gained infamy from a TV documentary that exposed the story of a customer who found a beetle in their food.
