Disadvantages: none
I have lived in Newcastle for almost 16 years now, having moved from a small village near Cornwall. I have to say I love this town. It has everything you could possibly want, a fabulous art gallery; a wide selection of pubs, clubs and restaurants; an excellent library system; and a fabulous selection of world class shops.
And of course, there's the people - salt of the earth, down to earth people who are very helpful and friendly. These are people with real community spirit.
Newcastle is famous for many things - Newcastle Brown Ale (a very popular beverage here!), Newcastle United, and of course many celebs have come from here. Donna Air, Denise Welsh, Robson Green and Jimy Nail all hail from the north east. I would say to anyone who wants to, you'd be very welcome here - come on and pay us a visit!
