Today Notting Hill is one indisputably of the most funkiest,multi-ethnic and trendy areas of London. Numerous celebrities from the world of pop music,fashion,theatre and tennis have chosen to live there and the place has long been home to perhaps the best known flea market in town,the Portobello Road.


At this lively,brash,noisy,popular,street market you can browse for hours through a host of stalls selling the likes of antiques, bric-a-brac, designer clothes,china,clocks,maps,books, and numerous other odds and ends.

Notting Hill is also home to a fantastic,exuberant,carnival that,I believe,is the second biggest in the world.It draws in people from all over.Many movie buffs will know that the much acclained romantic comedy that starred Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts was mostly shot on location in the place it is named after. Notting Hill was a resounding box office success.


Notting Hill is a good joint for shopping. There are some good book shops , charity shop,chemists,greengrocers,wine bars,and loads of great eateries and trendy pubs. A great place to set aside for a day visit if you are in London.
