The University of Plymouth is the 11th largest university in England, it is the most idealy placed university as it is opposite the city high street.
Plymouth is great for shopping it hosts the Drake Circus built in 2004 with Next, Boots, Jane Norman, Cult, New Look and Topshop. Plymouth also has two high streets full of the latest shops. Why not take a boat ride from the Mayflower Steps around the Plymouth Sound, see Drake Island, the navy ships, the breakwater.
Plymouth is full of history, the city is home to the Tinside Pool which is an outside pool over the hoe, it is very old school Art Deco pool. Smeatons tower is a beautiful picture spot, everyone needs a snap with the red and white lighthouse.
Union Street is the heart of Plymouths nightlife although it has a bad reputation for trouble after closing. Dont let this stop you going out though, I have had some of my best nights on Union Street. It includes Varsity, Revolutions, Walkabouts, Weatherspoons -Union Rooms, Reflex and C103.
Plymouth is a great music venue, the Plymouth Pavillions is an amazing venue. I saw the Pigeon Detectives there last year and it was absolutely amazing.
Plymouth makes Plymouth Gin, it is the oldest gin distillery in England. They have been producing gin since 1793.
