Advantages: LOTS OF WILD LIFE

Disadvantages: RUGGED COUNTRYSIDE

From Ballycastle in N. Ireland take the ferry over to this idyllic of Islands.
Go to Kebble National Nature Reserve and the West Lighthouse where the cliffs and sea stacks create a stunning backdrop to the thousands of seabirds raising their young chicks. The best views at the Sea Bird Viewpoint above the rocky shore will let you see plenty of Puffins on precarious ledges high up the cliffs.

The boathouse visitor centre is near the harbour in Church Bay where the locals love to tell stories about the history of the Island. Watch out because the people are proud of their traditions and like nothing better than a CEILI of story telling, songs music and dancing. This is where the drink flows readily and you end up with a sore head the next day.

Visit the Brockley Tea room or the Manor House and enjoy the craic in McCuaig’s Bar where there is more choice to eat or maybe take a picnic down to the shore and watch the seals.
This is a very relaxing break for a day trip or even a weekend and if you are into wild life it’s perfect.
