Runcorn is a heavily industrialised town, about 15 miles east of Liverpool based on the banks of the River Mersey. Although the reputation of the town has been tarnished over the years by dozens of disreputable pundits and naysayers - TV crews have obviously seen something in the town - With 'Merseybeat', 'Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps' and 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' all being filmed here - With locals dubbing the town as 'Woolywood'! I am stunned that no one has written a review about the lovely Runcorn yet! I am proud to summise for any would-be tourists. In short, I wouldn't bother visiting Runcorn unless you have some sort of affiliation with it, or you really like the television programmes '2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps' or 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' (or even Hollyoaks, some of that is sometimes filmed in Runcorn). The shops are poor, save for TK Maxx (which sometimes has some gems) and Home Bargains (everyone loves this place, just face it). The entertainment is alright, with Cineworld being near to the shops and The Brindley now really making an effort to be somewhere where ...  Read the complete review
