Settle is like the title says a nice little town in North Yorkshire. I do not live in Settle but I have spent a long time here and have family which live there. Settle is twenty minutes drive from Skipton.
Settle is famous for the Settle-Carlisle railway line where you can take a trip past stunning scenery and over the huge Ribblesdale viaduct by steam or electric. Many walkers and cyclists come to Settle which is set beautifully into the green scenery. There are many places you can walk. There is also a market in the town centre every Tuesday.
Bill Bryson once lived here and so did Richard Whiteley and the cast of Coronation Street and Emmerdale are often scene on visits.
Settle is currently recovering from the foot and mouth epedemic as it was hit hard.
If you enjoy walking or rambling it is worth a visit and there are many little cafes you can stop of at.
