This is only my third time in Wales. For the first two times, I went to Cardiff, which is a really nice city. But now that I'm in Aberystwyth, I prefer this to Cardiff. As I am from Cornwall, it seems like I've only travelled to a random cornish town next to the sea, but I'm about 400 miles away. So far, I've been here a couple of days, and I'm really enjoying it. The reason I'm up here is to visit a few of my uni friends. Because there is a large university here, the student nightlife is great. For only a small town, there is over 50 pubs, which gives you a great selection. The Cambrian Arms (opposite the train station) has the largest selection of cocktails I've ever seen! There is one long, and safe beach along Aberystwyth. It's a bit pebbely, so you get to make fun of the people trying to tip-toe over it. Hehe. Shadowing over the town is Constitution Hill. Its a very tiring climb up, but the views are absolutly fantastic. On a clear day, you can see the golf course, the pier, the whole of the town, the hill with the name I dont know, and many other places of interest. In the summer, instead of walking up here, trams run up there - I dont know if it costs anything. Also, on top of Constsition Hll, there is a cafe, so if you get a bit thirsty, you can grab a drink. The shopping centre of Aberystwyth has all the main chain stores, and lots of quaint specialist stores. There also seems to be an unhealhty amount of Spars around. The Welsh people have been very warm and welcoming so far, so thats great. The transport here is great here. I came here by train, which was on time (hoorah!) The buses are regular and cheap (Well, to what I'm used to) Also, taxis are cheap, and all the drivers have been really cool. I havent actually been on the pier yet, but apparently its worth a visit. I'm here until tomorrow, so we'll have to see whats on. Definat
ly visit this place.
