The children were going to spend the weekend with the mother-in-law and there was an opportunity for my wife and I to enjoy a weekend break on our own. Obviously the place to start looking was on the Internet to see what hotel offers were available. We started with the English Tourist Board web site and found links to quite a few hotel chains with special weekend offers. My wife said that she would like to go to a hotel that had a sauna and a swimming pool and I said I wanted to go to a city that I had never visited before.
