Southport, is a coastal town in the North West of England, approximately 22 miles from Liverpool City Centre. Southport is an old seaside town and has a lovely shopping centre, particularly Lord Street which is a very long street with a victorian feel. Along one side of the road runs some unique shops, including art shops, household shops and ...  Read the complete review

I was recently invited to a christening. The invitation was from my cousin, Catherine, and it was to be held in the beginning of July. I couldn’t wait. Not to meet the baby, I’m afraid, but because she lives in Liverpool, and I was looking forward to go there for a shopping spree! But, sadly, I was told I wouldn’t stay ...  Read the complete review

I was born and raised in Southport, then went away for 15 years or so, and now find myself back living in the old hometown. Having been away, I find I see the town in a different light. There are a lot of beauty spots that I never even noticed as a child, and so much wonderful architecture that I'd never really looked at until it was pointed ...  Read the complete review

My partner and I visited Southport in 2000 to stay for a weekend in The Prince of Wales Hotel at the top of Lord Street. It was a nice enough break and the hotel was lovely, but Southport isn’t a place to which I crave to return. The reason we chose Southport is that the hotel is part of the Paramount group and we have joined their ...  Read the complete review

Southport is a small seaside resort with one pier, it was built in 1859 and was the first one in Britain to be built for pleasure rather than as a landing stage. The main shopping street Lord Street is an elegant street, with regency villas and iron verandas in front of the shops. If you like a quiet holiday then this is the ...  Read the complete review

I used to live in Southport, I can tell you about the real Southport. You will not find a lot of sand on Southport's beach the reason why is there is a sandworks situated in Marshside, this sandworks takes all the sand off the beach. You can park on the beach for a couple of quid, the reason why is it's not very often you see the ...  Read the complete review

I went with a group of friends to Southport and we all had babies under 2. It was great for us, a nice beach (that wasnt too crowded) plenty of places to eat and have a drink and there were lots of facilities to change your baby/toddler. Theres also quite a lot of shops, so if you wanted to do a spot of shopping at the same time that ...  Read the complete review

Southport is situated on the North West Coast, about 20 miles North of Liverpool, it is south of preston and Blackpool. Although smaller than Blackpool it has a lot to offer. Lord Street, the main shopping street with many designer shops and a couple of department stores, is very elegant and covered with a victorian canopy. Band Stands ...  Read the complete review
