Swansea - a look at the City and its features (Swansea in General)

Advantages: Lots of nice places to go and local amenities

Disadvantages: Some ropey areas but everywhere is the same unfortunately

Swansea is a City of variables, and has a lot of features within it. Dylan Thomas described it as a 'lovely, ugly town' and in a perverse way i would agree with that:

As with any town or City, there are some undesirable areas and some rough areas, but on the whole Swansea has some great people and great features and facilities!

Swansea is going through a massive period of re-generation and as a result is having a lot of money invested. The city has a great Marina, and a new 'entertainment' quarter in Saliburious Place and Wind St where the majority of bars and bar/restaurants (like TGI Fridays etc) are.

Swansea is on the coast and has some amazing beaches (especially in Mumbles/Gower area). There are also some excellent restaurants with many serving local produce.

Sports-wise you have Swansea FC (playing in the Championship) and the high flying Ospreys RFC (heading up the Magners league), both of which play from the newly built Liberty Stadium. There is also the Wales National Pool hosted in Swansea, and a redeveloped Leisure Centre right in the middle of the City. There are also plenty of Sports clubs if you want to try your hand at anything locally.

There are two Universities - both of which are pretty central, and lots of schools and colleges throughout.

Great city, great people.
