Advantages: Very traditional festival town

Disadvantages: lack of nhs dentists for the local community!

Ulverston is a traditional small town and is known as a festival town because there is nearly always some sort of festival/ celebration, for example, Flag week, beer festival and lantern procession. The town is also a market town with an indoor market open 5 days a weeks and an outdoor market twice a week (thursday and saturday). Ulverston is a friendly town with lots to see and do.
Apart from the markets and festivals ulverston has the Laurel and Hardy Museum, what the locals call '' The Pepperpot'' (a lighthouse monument on top of the hill which looks like a pepperpot), cinema and plenty of convenient shops and boutiques to shop in. For such a small town Ulverston offers alot to the local community and tourists.
The town is cobbled in the main street which makes it feels very traditional, most of Ulverston is one-way making it quite safe and easy to walk around. The main street of Ulverston have alot of shops but if you go down the quaint little backstreets you stumble across amny more little boutique style shops which offer a wide selection of services and products.
Ulverston has plenty of places to eat, rest and drink. Whether you want to take out or sit in. There is at least two nice fish and chips shops and plenty of small pubs which sell pub meals.
There is a Booths supermarket which is extremely handy for the locals to grab necessities rather than travelling to Barrow- in- Furness which is where the main supermarkets are stuated.
Ulverston offers it locals all of the main services needed and it is very handy to have these on your doorstep, it is a lovely clean town which i like alot!
I would say the only bad thing about Ulverston is the lack of NHS dentist services available but hopefully that will be sorted soon enough :)

Summary: This is a lovely quiet little festival town
