Vauxhall isn’t really a place to have a big night out, but the local drinkeries are decent enough. And you’re only a short tube/cab ride away from the West End for flashier venues. Restaurants/cafes: There are lots of little Italian cafes and delis in Vauxhall, they‘re regularly frequented by the business community who pop in to grab a cappucino and toasted ciabatta of a lunchtime. I’ve worked in Vauxhall for the past three years. It’s a funny little place, not quite central London but only two stops down on the tube from Oxford Circus. Very few people actually seem to live here, so at weekends it’s practically deserted. House prices in the area have, however, soared phenomenally over the past couple of years and a one bedroom purpose built flat in Vauxhall will now set you back about £200,000. I can only put this down to the central location and ongoing improvements in the area.
