Mostly you will see people carriers and 4X cars driving around...to transport the fishermen or farmers...most with personal number plates ***BCK. Buckie is surrounded by clean, totally unpolluted, countryside. No mountains just hills, green and lush. The coastline is just wonderful with some of the nicest and quietest beaches around. Larger than a village, called a town but not really, Buckie lies on the Moray Firth coast almost 70 miles north west of Aberdeen and just over 60 miles east of Inverness. The town of Banff is 20 miles eastwards and Elgin 20 miles west. Buckie is a fishing town with its own busy harbour where boats come in on a Thursday and head off to sea on a Sunday..there is even a boat building yard. Apart from Safeway and Co-op there are no big shops but those that are there serve most people's needs. Parking is free and there is plenty of it.
