First off as you can see in the picture this device comes in a stylish dark blue model and its very small at about 10cm. Its light and fits in most pockets and bags making it very transportable but it is also tough and durable and several times I ended up dropping this or it falling of lecture desks only to survive undamaged and keeping up the recording!

During my time at university I noticed as well as taking other notes students were also recording lectures on Dictaphones which struck me as a great idea. Being a student however, and being short on fund I needed something cheap yet reliable and ideally something that would last me through the three years of my course. The Olypmus DM1 was recommended to me by various people and costing £9.99 in the Student Union shop it seemed like a good choice. All in all over the three years the DM 1 provided me with great value.
