      Very helpful

      Great value for money.

In need of a dictaphone for my work I finally decided to buy the Olympus VN-6800PC. I looked at the features of various models within my budget and found that this one in particular had a number of useful features I thought would come in handy. The VN-6800PC has a 512MB internal memory which is good for well over 200hours of recording in LP mode (Long Play). The Long Play mode is always advertised as the lower quality recording but I have never had any problems with this and always record in LP mode as I dont notice any degredation in sound quality. Once I got to grips with this voice recorder I found it very simple to operate and it is really simple to pick up. There is a large LCD display which shows a range of useful information and operation is by one large central button. It comes with an integrated loud speaker which comes in handy. I cant say i have noticed this feature but the recordings are always of clear and crisp quality and have never had problems hearing my own voice!

The voice activated recording feature is excellent, although i dont use this feature it is always a nice feature to have. it is comparable to driving a supercar on a motorway - yes, you can only travel at 70mph but it is always nice to know the car can hit 200mph in a matter of moments (not that I can speak from experience). The Olympus is very compact as with most dictaphones these days. I must say, when I looked at the dictaphones I were surprised at how compact they generally are. I remember the days of dictaphones holding tapes and that is probably the main reason for their reduction in size in recent years. This dictaphone is blue, most on the market are either black or silver. I have got a noise cancelling microphone to use with mine, which im sure many would find useful - I never use mine and they can be purchased seperately. For under £60 I think this is a bargain, as you also get a case and earphones too.

For anyone in need of this kind of technology this model is ideal. Very simple to operate straight out of the box, and smart looks make it stand out.
