I have always been prone to adding extra weight when I haven't been watching what I eat or lapse in my exercise routine and because I'm only just over 5 foot in height every pound seems to show.
I am 58 years old and must have read almost everything about dieting and weight loss. I have also been on many a diet but, after all these years, I have to say the only way to lose weight (and keep it off) is by following a sensible eating plan and taking the time to do some form of exercise.
So, why did I buy this Valupak Weight Loss Programme?
Well for 2 reasons really.
Firstly, I have noticed my clothes feel uncomfortably tighter recently which is not a good thing.
Secondly, I recently got given an eBay voucher to spend so I thought I would give this a try.
How much did it cost?
I should have shopped around because I used my £10 voucher whereas it would have only cost me £2.95 had I thought of looking on Amazon. This was for a 32g box which contained 42 tablets which is enough for 21 days. It can also be found in 14 and 28 day boxes.
What do you get?
You receive the box as shown in the Dooyoo picture plus the tablets of course and a helpful weight loss fact file which gives details on healthy eating, foods to avoid, exercise, ideal weight etc. Although this was informative I did not learn anything new from it but it would be useful to refer to because it is quite detailed and easy to understand.
What does it contain?
oops spell check is gonna go into overdrive here....
L-carnitine, L-tartrate,microcrystalls, maltodextrin, modified maize-based starch and magnesium stearate.
Apparently L-carnitine occurs naturally in the body where it is involved in the use of fat for energy production.
How do you take the tablets?
Just take 2 in the morning. They are easy to swallow and I did not experience any aftertaste.
Are there any side effects?
I felt a little bit bloated the first couple of days and had a bit of wind but nothing anti-social. Please note though that this may have been because of a change in diet (ie extra fibre)?
It states on the box that the tablets may cause nausea or dizziness in some cases.
Who cannot use this product?
It states that those embarking on the programme should not take the tablets if they have kidney problems.
Does it work?
Well, I lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks but I am not 100% sure that this was due to the programme or not. As I'd invested in the product I obviously wanted to make it work for me so I thought twice about what I was eating and made sure that I took time out to exercise at some point in the day. It is not a miracle quick-fix so you still need to use willpower.
However, I will say that I stopped snacking in the evenings - I just did not feel the need - and I'm sure this is because the tablets seem to make me feel fuller which therefore curbed my appetite. This is something I have not experienced before and must therefore be due the tablets.
Would I recommend this product?
Hmmm - difficult one here......
- If you want to kick-start a more healthy eating pattern then this will not cost too much (I've seen similar for much more money).
- If you follow the advice in the fact file and take the tablets I think it is worth giving it a go on a short-term basis.
- If you know it is not a magic fix and know that you have to use your willpower on occasions then I would recommend it.
- If you do not mind having a bit of wind and feeling a little bloated and are more concerned with the benefits of losing weight then once again I would say it may be worth trying.
- I would certainly buy this again.
