      Very helpful

Great overall with a couple of small flaws.

I bought this not long after I had bought my 3G iPod as I wanted something to protect my new toy. I decided upon this one as it was made of a thin silicon material, they were relatively inexpensive and the pack I got came with a black cover and well as the translucent white one. I paid about £5 for them a couple of years ago from a local electrical store.

Each silicon cover measures 7cm x 5cm x 0.7cm and is made of a very flexible and soft silicon material. On the front of the cover there is a hole for the screen and then there is a thinner material over the clickwheel. The bottom of it has a hole which you push the iPod through to get it into the cover. At first I found this hole really tight to get the iPod through, but I have found that the silicon has ripped slightly in the corners which has made the cover less tight but easier to take on and off. The rear of the cover is just plain silicon to protect the shiny rear cover of the iPod.

To help keep my iPod protected, it does a very good job as I have used it at the gym, out running and it has been thrown around in my bag. To this day, my iPod has not broken or received any damage with this on. To protect it, it works very well. One problem I do have is using the clickwheel. As there is the silicon cover over it, albeit thinner than the rest of the cover, this makes the clickwheel harder to operate as sometimes it does not register your finger actions. This makes scrolling through music a lot more frustrating! The access hole on the bottom also serves as a whole for your headphone jack and the USB connection. The whole is big enough for both these connections to be used easily.

As a cover, it has worked very well in keeping my iPod protected and relatively scratch free, however its overall practicality when using the iPod lets it down. If the click wheel operation problems were solved, then this would be worth 5/5, but as this has frustrated me and a lot of my friends in the past, then I can only give it 4/5. I would still recommend one though as it does look good on your iPod and it means your iPod can withstand knocks and bumps with ease.

      Thank you for reading!
