These little socks provide a novel way of protecting your ipod from knocks and scrapes. I guess if you wanted to you could use an old sock but I am not sure what people may thing of you keeping your electronics in a smelly old sock. These new specially designed socks are fun, stylish and allow you to keep your ipod safe. The only main drawback is that after a while the sock becomes a little baggy and even after washing it, you need to replace it with a new one. ==Price and availability== For one sock you will pay around £6, if you want to buy three on eBay will pay around £12 which is a lot but it does make a good stocking (pardon the pun) filler! These come packaged so you can wrap them easily. I suppose 6 pounds per sock does seem a little excessive but you are paying for the novelty value. If you don't like it, get out your needles and knit you own, I bet you can get hold of knitting pattern online really easily! ==Description== This is a nice sock and they come in neon/bright colours to choose from. The socks are made from a high quality silky wool and the design is slightly ribbed which makes the sock stretchy. I have a pink one for my ipod nano. The socks fit the iPod Mini, iPod Nano 1st and 2nd Generation. The sock has a little band of lighter pink around the top which makes it look more like an actual sock. The stitching is all on the inside and at first the ipod fits snugly in the sock. After a while, the sock gets a little baggy and it does not fit as comfortably. ==My experiences== The sock gets really dirty very quickly and it also goes a bit out of shape, just like a regular sock so you need to wash it in order for it to go back to its normal shape and size. I wash it on a quick 35 degree wash and it does not shrink but it goes back to how it should it. It also keeps the colour bright and makes it smell nicer. You do not realise how grubby your hands get especially if you use this in the gym so you will find that it does need regular washing to keep it fresh. I have had to replace the sock once so far as it just got really baggy and the wool was all out of shape, I could not keep the ipod in it as it kept slipping out which was not good. ==Overall== These are fun and although you cannot see what is inside the sock like some of the other cases and covers you get, I rather like the novelty of this. I like the different coloured wool band at the top as it looks more sock like and I like how thick it feels because of the ribbed style of knitting used. I recommend the socks, just make sure you wash them to keep them in condition.
As I am sure many of you will know what I mean, having an Amazon account often leads to aimless browsing of a strange and eclectic bunch of items at random. Very rarely will I log in without thinking 'I really do need one of those!'. I suppose you know what I am building up to. The EASYi Crystal Clear Case & Sock is one of my many Amazon purchases and at the time I just knew I 'needed' one! Before I begin the review I wish to state that I don't use the case anymore as I don't own this particular model of mp3 player anymore (iPod Nano). The EASYi Sock (as I will call it from now on) is a very simply designed and made protective sleeve for whichever gadget you wish to protect. That could be anything from MP3 players to mobile phones, to be honest this is where the list of possibilities ends as far as I am concerned. I think the simplicity of the product is what attracted me to buying it, and also the price was quite influential at around £3. Protecting the screen of mobile phones and mp3 players is something of an obsession and I take great care in looking after such items due to their cost. The EASYi Sock is effectively just a thickly knitted pouch - something my Mum has replicated for me since to prove a point. Although the stitch is ribbed and is chunky it doesn't offer any real thickness or protection. The design allows easy access to whatever you may be protecting in it. This is something that appeals to me, though protection isn't really the strong point of the EASYi Sock. I think it would be a lot more accurate to suggest this case is intended to prevent surface scratches it may otherwise pick up in your pocket. If I dropped this case with my mobile phone inside it I am quite sure it would offer no protection at all, though I suppose at least it would keep all the tiny fragments of my mobile phone together! A bargain this EASYi Sock is not. The price is very low for a reason, though I would suggest it is better than nothing. It is a bit like driving a car and instead of an airbag you have your passenger holding a balloon in front of your face. I like to see my mobile phone and have access to the features on my mp3 player also, so in that sense the EASYi Sock gets a big fat negative response. On the positive side, though, is the ability to slot your headphones into the jack on top of the phone or mp3 player and protect the gadget from scratches whilst it is in your pocket. In all seriousness I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone that I liked - I wouldn't even recommend it to someone I disliked. If you wanted one then you could always ask your gran to knit you one, it would be of a similar quality standard I suspect. The only glimmer of hope for this product is that the sock can be versatile due to its stretchy nature and the fact that its measurements aren't specific to any particular model. *To complete the review I would like to add that the case (not the sock) is robust and offers good protection and as it is clear it doesn't hinder either looks or operation of the iPod Nano, other than making it a little bulkier.*
When wanting to keep your Ipod in good condition and preventing it from scratching buying a case and sock is something which could be a useful buy to kep the Ipod in good condition. These are a cheaper pair to purchase than the standard Apple ones which I find are very useless and do nothing. Price The price of these as a pair are just over £3 which when you think of what it will be used for is a very good price. You may be able to find alternatives but I do think this is the cheapest one I could find on the market. I don't recommend purchasing the same product for any higher than what this one is available at. I think spending over £5 for a product which is pretty basic is a waste. Quality The quality of both the sock and case are of a very good standard. The sock is very thick so if you did happen to drop it whilst your Ipod was in nothing should happen to your Ipod. Even though I don't use the case even though it seems pretty cheaply built I am assuming that if happened to fall ont he floor it wouldn't crumble which is good. Overall Overall the product is a cheap and effective way of making sure that you Ipod doesn't get scratched or broke. You can get similar products which are more expensive but in my opinion are of no better quality than this one. For the sake of a few quid it will make sure that your Ipod doesn't get broke so you may aswell purchase it.
After recently purchasing an Apple iPod Nano 5th Generation from Amazon, I was drawn to the section on the Amazon page that states : "What Do Customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item?" It was here that I was informed that a percentage of customers also purchased the EASYi Crystal Clear Case and Sock. EASYi produce a range of protective covers for iPods etc and at first glance this particular cover and sock seemed an ideal 'extra' to purchase. The iPod Nano casing has a lovely metallic sheen and you must be really careful when handling and storing your iPod, to ensure the screen itself and metallic casing does not become damaged or scratched. With this in mind, I decided that I should really buy some sort of protective cover for my iPod Nano and this seemed ideal as you are getting both a case and a sock, all for the brilliant bargain price of £1.99 with free delivery, which is the price I paid for it around 8 weeks ago. The clear case is designed to protect your iPod Nano whilst still providing you with easy access to the headphone jack, USB connector, click wheel, video camera and mic. It does recess them a little though, to still give some protection. All functions of your iPod Nano are not restricted by the case. The sock is a thick charcoal and grey knitted ribbed case, designed to simply pop your iPod inside, where it is a snug fit. So was I impressed by my bargain buy? The answer has to be no I'm afraid. The reason for this being that the clear plastic case is not very good quality at all in my opinion. It did not seem to click together properly and then literally just fell apart! There was no way it was going to click together and after numerous attempts I decided to give up, as I was worried I would damage or scratch my iPod trying to get the case on, which really defeats the object. Instead of offering protection, you could actually damage your iPod persevering with this! The sock, on the other hand, was fine. My iPod Nano is a snug fit inside and I was quite happy with it. It hasn't gone out of shape and is good quality. It is a shame the plastic case is such poor quality. I decided that as I only paid £1.99, I should really not have expected much for my money I suppose. As the sock is perfect, I just use the sock to store my iPod and threw the plastic case in the bin, as that is all it is fit for in my opinion. A few customers who have purchased this case and sock set have also commented that the plastic case is rubbish, doesn't clip together, or fell apart. However, some customers seem happy with their purchase according to feedback at Amazon, so obviously some customers have had a far better experience than me. I realise I could have sent it back, but at paying only £1.99 it didn't seem worth the hassle and as I am very happy with the sock, I decided to keep it. The price now, however, for the two cases are £3.71 from Amazon and if I had paid this amount for mine, then maybe I would have returned it. If you are looking for a plastic case then I cannot reccomend this product. I would suggest you spend a little more money than I did and try and find a decent one. I can however, recommend the sock, but I doubt it is worth paying £3.71 just for a sock when you can pick up a pack of six socks which look identical to this one, in various colours for £1.49 - £2.50 on Amazon also!
